HUNTRESS: How to Find All Four Dynamite Sticks

Dynamite in HUNTRESS hides in containers and breakables across the building's floors. Learn where to search and how to get all four sticks placed.

To escape in HUNTRESS you need four sticks of dynamite together with the detonator room key and a detonator code — the game's own objective text tells you exactly that before you can blow open the exit gate. Dynamite is the part that takes the most legwork: the sticks are scattered around the building instead of gathered in one room, so finding them all is a systematic search job. (What you do with everything once it's collected is covered in the HUNTRESS escape walkthrough.)

Where dynamite hides

Dynamite is found in containers around the building, and breakable objects are worth smashing as you go. In recorded runs, players picked up sticks by searching rooms one by one, checking lockers and drawers, and suspecting vases and other breakables. Don't dismiss the small clutter: one player broke a little jar and pulled a key out of it, which shows how much useful loot the building's breakables can hide.

Sticks are also spread across multiple floors rather than clustered in one spot. In one run, a player grabbed two sticks upstairs while the group expected the remaining ones downstairs; in another, a group that had already searched the whole bottom floor reasoned that the remaining charges were most likely on the second floor. Treat the entire building as your search area — no floor can be written off. The HUNTRESS building layout page helps you plan the sweep.

A search pattern that finds the last sticks

  • Clear floor by floor. Recorded groups work through one floor at a time instead of wandering, so they know which areas still hide a missing stick.
  • Split up when sticks go missing. One group found their final stick only after dividing an area between them and re-searching ground they had already covered.
  • Re-check the top and bottom floors. When the count doesn't add up, going back over both ends of the building is the standard move — it's easy to have walked straight past a container earlier.
  • Listen while you search. One player tracked down the last stick partly by the way nearby dynamite sounded, so an unfamiliar sound can be worth chasing down.

Picking up and moving sticks

When you reach a stick, pick it up and it appears in your hand as a held item, so there's no mistaking when you've got one. Carry it to the dynamite placement point at the start area and set it down — you don't have to wait until all four are found to start delivering them.

In multiplayer, sticks can change hands. In one recorded run, a player who had already picked up a stick gave it straight to a teammate who needed it. If someone else is closer to the start area, handing your stick over saves the whole team a trip.

Searching while the spider hunts

Recorded groups keep searching floor by floor even while the spider is active, breaking off when it gets close and returning to the sweep once it moves off. If you'd rather not improvise under pressure, the HUNTRESS hiding guide and the spider chase guide cover the survival side in detail.

Once the fourth stick is placed at the start area and you have the key and code in hand, you're ready for the detonator room and the gate.
